Mr. Mondkar presently is the Managing Director of Unitop Aquacare Ltd . He joined his family business in 1998, a venture originally founded by his father, Mr. S.M. Mondkar, in 1976. The business specializes in manufacturing process equipment for the textile, detergent, and chemical industries, with expertise in turnkey contracts for evaporators, spray dryers, and heat recovery systems.
Recognizing the immense potential in the wastewater management industry, he spearheaded the company’s diversification in 2003 into effluent treatment, reverse osmosis, and evaporation systems, ensuring compliance with modern industry norms such as Zero Liquid Discharge (ZLD).
The company operates an engineering and design office in Thane, employing over 100 professionals, along with three manufacturing units in Navi Mumbai, Bhiwandi, and Umbergaon (Gujarat), supporting a workforce of nearly 220 employees.
Beyond his corporate achievements, Mr. Mondkar is deeply committed to environmental sustainability. A passionate nature enthusiast, he has undertaken an ambitious initiative to plant over 10,000 trees as part of his dedication to environmental conservation. To fulfil this vision, he acquired 35 acres of land in Kudal, Konkan, where he has established a zero-investment organic farm, fostering a self-sustaining ecosystem with diverse flora, fauna, and over 6,000 trees. Additionally, he has developed a 5-acre jungle within this project.
Looking ahead, Mr. Mondkar plans to expand into organic tourism, providing urban dwellers with an immersive experience in sustainable living and reconnecting them with nature.
